Mike retired from the Air Force Academy and Deb wanted to spend some time as a traveling registered nurse before retiring. Mike would work part time temporary jobs at cycle and ski shops and even worked at the mall in Anchorage, Alaska as a maintenance man. The travel bug was pretty engrained after 14 years of moving off and on every 3-6 months. In 2015 we finally sold our house since most years we only visit for a few months before heading out again. Now we are both retired and playing it by ear.
We are always looking for a new place to ride our bikes or take a hike. The people we meet along the way make each adventure that much more memorable.
Sure, we miss our families. But we make sure to circle back to see them as a part of our plans.
It takes teamwork to live this type of life but it all seems to be working out well so far.
